Simon Cabaret
Simon Cabaret is Phuket's original and longest-running cabaret show — an intimate, glamorous theatrical production in Patong that's been entertaining audiences since 1991. Often called "the mother of all cabarets" on the island, it's built around a talented cast of transgender (kathoey) performers delivering a fast-paced blend of music, dance, comedy, and elaborate costume changes.
Timings
Show times: Three performances nightly — typically around 6:00 PM, 7:45/7:30 PM, and 9:00/9:30 PM (exact times vary slightly by source, so confirm when booking).
Best time to visit: All three slots work well depending on your evening plans — the earlier 6:00 PM show is a relaxed option for families or those with an early night ahead, the mid-evening show suits couples and small groups looking for a balanced pace, and the last show pairs naturally with continuing on to Patong's nightlife afterward. Arrive at least 30 minutes before your chosen showtime to get settled and browse the lobby bar.
Time needed: The show itself runs about 60–75 minutes with no intermission; budget roughly 1.5–2 hours total including arrival, seating, and post-show photos.
Best season: November to February for the most comfortable evening weather; May to October is rainier, though the show itself is indoors and unaffected by weather.
Experiences & Highlights
Glamorous stage production — a full-scale theatrical performance combining live dance, lip-sync, comedy, and theatrical choreography across a wide range of international musical themes, from Broadway-style numbers to Asian-inspired routines, performed in Thai, Japanese, Korean, and English.
Elaborate costume changes — one of the show's defining features, with dazzling, quick-change outfits and headdresses throughout each act.
High-tech production values — a hi-tech sound and lighting system in an intimate 600-seat theatre, giving the show a polished, Vegas-style feel.
Post-show photos — after the performance, you can take photos with the performers just outside the venue for a small tip (around 100 baht per photo, customary but optional).
Seating tiers — Regular/Deluxe seats (often 2nd floor) offer solid overall views at a lower price, while VIP/VVIP seats (1st floor, closer to the stage) give a more immersive, up-close experience of the costumes and choreography.
